![]() ![]() As Rachel stood by the heavy door, looking out into the parking
lot at the mall, she cried as if her heart would break.
"Are you lost?" Someone asked her. "Y-yes." Rachel
sobbed as she nodded her head. She knew the man was
a security guard-her mother had pointed him out to her.
"Come with me, and I’ll help you find your mother,"
said the guard holding out his hand.
"Will you take me to the lost and found?" asked Rachael
through her tears. "Something like that," said the guard
with a smile.
Rachel bravely brushed at the tears running down her
freckled cheeks. Then she clung tightly to the man’s hand
as they walked together down the wide hall.
When they reached the information center,
Rachel’s description was given over the loudspeaker.
Very soon a woman came hurrying out of the crowd,
tears in her eyes. "Oh, Rachel," said the mother as she
knelt down to hug her daughter,
"I’ve been looking for you everywhere for you!"
That evening at bedtime, Mother read the story of the
lost sheep from Rachel’s Bible storybook.
After she finished, Mother said,
"The lost sheep reminds me of you, lost in the mall
this morning. You hoped I would find you, didn’t you?"
Rachel nodded. "I know, but it’s even worse to be lost
from God," she replied.
Rachel settled her head on her pillow and listened to her
mother continued, "Just as the sheep went astray and got
lost, boys and girls go astray. They do wrong things. But
just as the shepherd went to search for the lost sheep,
Jesus came to earth to seek and save the lost boys and
girls and men and women. We can ask Him to forgive the
wrong things we’ve done and to be our Savior." CEY
Memorize:
"And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those
like him who are lost." Luke 19:10
What about you?
Are you still lost? Jesus will save you if you will believe on Him.
Ask Him to forgive your sins. Then you will be "found forever",
and God will never leave you. You’ll never be truly lost
no matter where you are.
